What Is the CBSE DigiLocker Marksheet?

DigiLocker is the Government of India’s official digital document platform. CBSE directly pushes your authentic documents into your DigiLocker account — you don’t upload anything yourself. The digital marksheet carries the digital signature of the Controller of Examinations, CBSE, plus a QR code that any college or employer can scan to verify it instantly.

In 2026, CBSE issued documents on DigiLocker for the Class 10 Phase 1 result (declared 15 April), the Class 12 result (declared 13 May), and the Class 10 Phase 2 result. If you appeared this year, your documents are waiting in your account — you just need to activate it.

ℹ️ Two ways to access your marksheet: Method 1 uses the 6-digit security PIN from your school (documents appear automatically). Method 2 uses your Aadhaar (you pull the documents manually). Both give you the same official documents. Use whichever works for you.

Method 1 — Download With the 6-Digit Security PIN (Recommended)

CBSE generates a unique 6-digit security PIN for every student and sends it to schools through the school’s DigiLocker login. Ask your class teacher or exam coordinator for your PIN if you haven’t received it. Then follow these steps:

  1. Open the activation portal Go to cbseservices.digilocker.gov.in and click “Get Started with Account Confirmation”.
  2. Select your class Choose Class X or Class XII depending on which marksheet you need.
  3. Enter your details Fill in your school code, CBSE roll number (both are on your admit card) and the 6-digit security PIN from your school.
  4. Verify with OTP Enter your mobile number, click Submit, enter your date of birth if prompted, then type the OTP received on your phone. Your account is now activated.
  5. Open Issued Documents Log in to the DigiLocker app or digilocker.gov.in and open the “Issued Documents” section.
  6. Download your PDFs Your Marksheet cum Passing Certificate and Migration Certificate are listed there. Download and save 2–3 copies — phone, email and a pen drive.

Pro tip: Use a mobile number linked to your Aadhaar during activation. It makes future logins smoother and lets you use the same DigiLocker account for your Aadhaar, and later your driving licence and college documents.

Method 2 — Download Without the PIN (Aadhaar Method)

School closed for holidays? PIN not reaching you? You can still get your marksheet using your Aadhaar number:

  1. Sign up on DigiLocker Go to digilocker.gov.in or open the app, click Sign Up, and enter your Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and gender exactly as per Aadhaar.
  2. Verify and sign in Complete the OTP verification on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and log in.
  3. Search for CBSE Go to “Search Documents”, select CBSE, and choose the document type — Class X or Class XII Marksheet.
  4. Pull your document Enter your roll number and year of passing (2026), then click “Get Document”. Your marksheet is fetched from the CBSE database and stored permanently in your account.

⚠️ Important: The PIN method pushes documents into your account automatically. The Aadhaar method requires you to pull each document manually via Search. If your “Issued Documents” section looks empty after Aadhaar signup, that’s normal — just search and pull.

Class 10 Students — The Best-of-Two Marksheet Explained

2026 is the first year of CBSE’s two-board-exam system, so Class 10 marksheets work differently this year:

Checking Your Result vs Downloading Your Marksheet

These are two different things, and students often confuse them:

Always download the DigiLocker version for admission paperwork, even if you already saw your marks on the result portal.

Common Problems & Fixes

ProblemFix
PIN has only 5 digitsAdd a zero (0) at the beginning. Leading zeros often get dropped in the PIN files sent to schools.
“Issued Documents” is emptyYou likely signed up via Aadhaar instead of PIN activation. Use “Search Documents” → CBSE → enter roll number + year to pull your marksheet manually.
OTP not arriving / transaction failedHappens during heavy traffic right after result declaration. Wait 15–30 minutes and retry. Avoid peak hours (first 2–3 hours after a result goes live).
No PIN from schoolOnly your school can give the PIN — CBSE sends it to the school’s DigiLocker login. Meanwhile, use the Aadhaar method (Method 2) which needs no PIN.
Wrong name / marks on marksheetReport it to your school immediately for correction through CBSE. Do not delay — incorrect records create problems during admission verification.
No Aadhaar-linked mobile numberYou can complete PIN-based activation with any mobile number. For the Aadhaar method, you must first update your mobile number at an Aadhaar centre.

Alternative: UMANG App

If DigiLocker is overloaded, the government’s UMANG app offers the same CBSE documents. Open UMANG → search “CBSE” → select your class and year → enter roll number and details → download. It fetches from the same CBSE repository, so the document is identical.
