When Will CBSE Phase 2 Result 2026 Be Declared?

CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 (Second Board) Result 2026 is expected within 30 days of the exam ending. The Phase 2 exam runs from 15 May to 21 May 2026, so the expected result window is between 15 June 2026 and 30 June 2026.

Since this is the first Phase 2 result under the new two-board system, CBSE has not committed to a specific date. Based on Phase 1 (declared 41 days after exam end on 15 April 2026) and historical compartment exam timelines (typically 30–40 days), late June is the most likely window. The exact date will be announced on the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in a few days before declaration.

ℹ️ Result tracker: Approximately 6,68,854 students are appearing in CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 2026 — including 5,25,655 improvement candidates and 1,43,199 compartment candidates. CBSE’s evaluation infrastructure will be processing all of these in parallel after the last exam on 21 May.

The Big Question: How Phase 1 + Phase 2 Marks Combine

This is the most-asked question among students and parents. CBSE follows a clean rule called "Best of Two": for each subject, the higher of your Phase 1 and Phase 2 score is what appears on your final marksheet. There is no averaging, no penalty for lower Phase 2 score, no asterisks on the certificate.

📊 Example: Improvement Candidate

SubjectPhase 1Phase 2Final Marksheet
Mathematics728181 (from Phase 2)
Science787478 (from Phase 1 — Phase 2 was lower)
Social Science698383 (from Phase 2)
English85— (didn’t appear)85 (from Phase 1)
Hindi74— (didn’t appear)74 (from Phase 1)
Total / Aggregate78.2% — up from 75.6% in Phase 1

In this example, the student improved their aggregate by 2.6 percentage points by reappearing in 3 subjects. The Science score from Phase 1 was retained because Phase 2 was lower — no penalty.

Key takeaway: For improvement candidates, Phase 2 is a one-way ticket up. Your Phase 1 score is the floor — it can only stay or rise, never fall. This is why CBSE describes Phase 2 as a "second opportunity" rather than a "retest".

For Compartment Students: Different Rules Apply

If you are in compartment category (failed in 1 or 2 subjects in Phase 1), the rules are slightly different:

For full eligibility and pass rules, see our dedicated Compartment Exam 2026 guide.

Will the Marksheet Say "Improvement" or "Compartment"?

This is one of the biggest concerns students have, especially for Class 11 admissions and college applications later. The answer:

No, the final marksheet-cum-certificate does not carry any "improvement" or "compartment" tag. Once you pass through Phase 2, your certificate looks identical to that of any Phase 1-only student. It simply shows:

This is intentional. The whole purpose of NEP 2020’s two-board system is to remove the stigma of compartment / improvement attempts. Schools, colleges, and employers seeing your marksheet won’t know whether you appeared in Phase 1 only or both phases.

Class 11 Admission — Will Schools Wait for Phase 2 Result?

Most CBSE-affiliated schools in India give provisional Class 11 admissions based on Phase 1 results, with stream allocation finalized after Phase 2 results are out (mid-late June 2026). The two policies you’ll see are:

Policy A: Wait for Final Marks (Most Common)

Many schools, especially metro and reputed ones, hold off final stream confirmation until Phase 2 results. If your Phase 2 score raises your aggregate above the cut-off for your preferred stream (Science / Commerce), you’ll be allotted that stream automatically once the final marksheet is ready.

Policy B: Provisional + Re-allocation

Some schools allocate streams immediately after Phase 1 with the right to revise after Phase 2. If your Phase 2 score boosts your aggregate, you can request a stream upgrade in late June or early July.

Talk to your school’s Class 11 admissions cell to know which policy applies. Don’t finalise Class 11 admissions in May without checking this.

What If You Were Absent in Phase 2?

If you registered for Phase 2 but didn’t appear:

Phase 2 Re-evaluation, Verification & Photocopy of Answer Sheet

If you have concerns about your Phase 2 result, CBSE typically offers three post-result services with strict deadlines (each window is 5–7 days):

🔍 Verification of marks — CBSE re-checks the addition of marks per question. Doesn’t change the assessment; only catches arithmetic errors. Cheapest service.

📝 Photocopy of evaluated answer sheet — You receive a scanned copy of your answer sheet to verify each question’s marking yourself. Most useful step.

Re-evaluation — A different examiner re-marks specific questions you flagged after seeing the photocopy. Marks can go up, stay same, or rarely down. Requires fees per question.

Application windows and fees will be announced after the Phase 2 result is declared. Watch cbse.gov.in for notifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 result 2026 be declared?
CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 (Second Board) Result 2026 is expected to be declared within 30 days of the exam ending — that is, between mid-June and end of June 2026. The Phase 2 exam runs from 15 May to 21 May 2026. As this is the first Phase 2 result under the new two-board exam system, the exact date will be officially announced at cbse.gov.in.
How can I check my CBSE Phase 2 Result 2026 online?
You can check CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 Result 2026 on three official platforms: (1) the official CBSE results website at cbse.gov.in or results.cbse.nic.in, (2) the DigiLocker app linked to your Aadhaar, and (3) the UMANG mobile app. You will need your roll number, date of birth, and admit card ID to log in.
How will Phase 1 and Phase 2 marks combine on the final marksheet?
CBSE follows a "Best of Two" policy — the higher of your Phase 1 and Phase 2 score for each subject will appear on your final marksheet. If you scored 75 in Maths in Phase 1 and 82 in Phase 2, the marksheet will show 82. If Phase 2 score is lower than Phase 1, your Phase 1 score remains. There is no averaging.
Will the marksheet say "improvement" or "compartment" if I appear in Phase 2?
No. Once you pass through Phase 2, your final CBSE Class 10 marksheet-cum-certificate simply shows your subject-wise marks (the better of Phase 1 / Phase 2). The certificate does NOT carry the word "improvement" or "compartment" as long as you are passed in all subjects. This is the key advantage of the new two-board system.
What if my Phase 2 score is lower than Phase 1?
Nothing. Your Phase 1 score remains your final score for that subject. Phase 2 cannot reduce your Phase 1 marks under any circumstance. This is CBSE’s official "Best of Two" policy. Appearing in Phase 2 carries zero downside risk for improvement candidates.
What happens if I am absent in CBSE Phase 2 exam 2026?
If you are absent in Phase 2 for an improvement subject, your Phase 1 score for that subject continues as your final score. If you are absent in Phase 2 for a compartment subject (one you failed in Phase 1), the failure remains on your record and you must reappear in next year’s main exam (February-March 2027).
Will Class 11 admission use Phase 1 or Phase 2 marks?
Class 11 admissions and stream allocation use the FINAL CBSE marksheet — which shows the higher of Phase 1 / Phase 2 score for each subject. Most schools wait for the Phase 2 result (mid-June 2026) before finalizing Class 11 stream selections. If your Phase 2 score raises your aggregate, the new aggregate is what counts for stream eligibility.
When will the final CBSE Class 10 marksheet 2026 be issued?
The final marksheet-cum-certificate combining Phase 1 and Phase 2 results is typically issued by CBSE within 1-2 months after the Phase 2 result declaration. So if Phase 2 result comes by mid-June 2026, the final physical marksheet should be available through your school by July-August 2026. The digital marksheet on DigiLocker is usually available much sooner.
How will compartment students know if they passed in Phase 2?
Compartment students need to score at least 33% in each previously-failed subject in Phase 2 (26 out of 80 in theory, plus their Phase 1 internal marks counting towards the 33% overall). If you cross 33% in all failed subjects in Phase 2, your result will show "Passed" and the new marks will appear on the final marksheet without any compartment marker.
Can I apply for revaluation of Phase 2 result 2026?
Yes. CBSE typically allows three post-result services for Phase 2 as well: (1) verification of marks, (2) obtaining a photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet, and (3) revaluation of marks. The application windows and fees will be announced after the Phase 2 result is declared. Each step has a strict deadline — usually 5-7 days each.
Phase 2 result kab aayega 2026 mein?
CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 result lagbhag mid-June 2026 (June 15 ke aas-paas) tak aane ki ummeed hai. Exam 21 May ko khatam ho raha hai, aur CBSE usually 25-30 din ke andar result declare karta hai. Official date cbse.gov.in par announce hogi.
Phase 2 mein kam marks aaye toh kya Phase 1 ka result chala jayega?
Nahi. CBSE ki official policy hai "Best of Two" — matlab Phase 1 aur Phase 2 mein se jo bhi score zyada hai, wahi final marksheet par dikhega. Agar Phase 2 mein kam aaya toh Phase 1 ka score wahi rahega. Phase 2 dene se kabhi nuksaan nahi hota improvement candidates ke liye.
⚠️ Disclaimer: CBSE has not officially announced the Phase 2 Result 2026 date. The expected window of 15–30 June 2026 is an estimate based on (a) past CBSE supplementary exam result timelines and (b) the gap of 41 days between Phase 1 exam end and Phase 1 result declaration in 2026. Actual date may differ. Always verify with cbse.gov.in for official notifications. Statistics in this article are based on CBSE’s LOC registration data released in April 2026.
